Annual Free Fund Distribution by Alva’s Education Foundation

Vidyagiri: Primary & Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said, Alva’s Education Foundation is an exemplary institution in the state in terms of supporting sports, culture and education in different capacities. No other institution in the state bestows this kind of
support to build society through young minds. He was speaking as a chief guest in the program of Alva’s Education Foundation’s Annual Free Fund Distribution, at Nudisiri Vedhike, Vidyagiri

He said, there are four kinds of people we can find in our society, the first one is, who says, mine is mine and yours is yours. The second category is, mine is yours and yours is mine and third one is mine is mine and yours is also mine and the last one is yours is yours and mine is also yours. And, Dr M Mohan Alva belong fourth category, who always finds happiness in supporting others. He added said, this section of people should increased drastically and through that we can find welfare society. He called upon students to cultivate the culture of pay back to society through one or another way from their childhood.

Tourism and Kannada and culture department Minister CT Ravi, said, one country can become all powerful only with desired education system. Quoting the example of Japan, he said, the great devastation of the Japanese economy during the war was rebuilt within ten years through education. Stating the imprudent culture of media, he said in today’s world negative news gets front page honour, where as positive news gets inner page consideration. He added and said, when our media gives positive news in front page and meagre attention for negative news, and then a model society could be built.

Presiding over the program,Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt said, Dr M Mohan Alva feels the problem of Karnataka as his own, and this ethos made him to come forward and support the flood victims of Karnataka.

Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman, Dr M Mohan Alva said in introductory speech, ‘’our foundation supports students fraternity in different ways. An enormous amount of Rs 33, 85, 40, 315 was spent on various adoption and concession of total 4543 students in a year. Out of Rs 9,81,36, 738 is for meritorious students, Rs 3,39,26,128 for cultural students and Rs 7,95,14,160 for sports students, Rs 8,07,63,289 for fee concession and Rs 7, 85,25,000 for Kannada Medium school students adoption. A total 1421 students in our foundation studying under complete zero fees, he added. He also announced Rs 50 lakh for Chief Minister’s Flood Relief fund in the program.

Former Minister K Amarnath Shetty, K Abhaychandra Jain, Legislator Umanath Kotian, former MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik were present among others.
