Annual Meet 2025: A Celebratory Gathering of the All Banks’ Employees Christian Association

Mangaluru: The All Banks’ Employees Christian Association (ABCEA) held its Annual Meet on January 25, 2025, at the Don Bosco Hall in Mangaluru, marking a significant milestone as the organization embarks on its Silver Jubilee celebrations. The event commenced promptly at 7:00 p.m. with the Anthem Song of ABCEA, setting a tone of unity and camaraderie among the attendees.

The President of ABCEA delivered a warm welcome to the gathering, reflecting on the organization’s remarkable journey over the past 24 years. In his presidential address, he emphasized the association’s commitment to service and community support, highlighting that during the 2024-25 year, ABCEA has provided financial assistance amounting to ₹75,000 to two beneficiaries for their medical treatments. Additionally, a generous donation of ₹50,000 was made to the Ave Maria Palliative Centre in Vamanjoor during the Christmas season, underscoring the association’s dedication to helping those in need.

Mrs. Delphine Pais, a respected member of the association, presented the annual report for the years 2023 and 2024. Her comprehensive overview included the association’s various initiatives and achievements, showcasing its active role in supporting its members and the wider community. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of eight children of bank employees and members of ABCEA who excelled in education and sports. Their accomplishments were celebrated, demonstrating the association’s commitment to fostering talent and encouraging the next generation.

In a gesture of appreciation for cultural contributions, Mr. Marcel D’Souza and Mr. Jerome Moras were honored for their significant contributions to Konkani literature and drama, as well as film acting, respectively. Their recognition not only celebrated their achievements but also reinforced the association’s commitment to promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Konkani community.

In a poignant moment during the event, ABCEA extended its support to the family of the late Gloria Rodrigues of Bajpe by donating ₹50,000 under the Tragic Death Relief Fund. This act of kindness exemplified the association’s solidarity and compassion during times of loss and hardship.

The Chief Guest for the evening, Mr. Robert D’Silva, former Assistant General Manager of Canara Bank, delivered an insightful address on the current state of customer service in banks. He emphasized the importance of digitalization in banking operations while cautioning attendees about the rising incidence of bank fraud. His remarks served as a valuable reminder for all employees to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their customers’ interests.

Following the stage program, attendees were treated to a series of cultural and games activities organized by Mrs. Rita D’Souza, fostering a spirit of fun and engagement among members. The evening was skillfully compered by Mr. Dolphy Saldanha, whose lively commentary added to the festive atmosphere of the gathering.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Vice President Mr. Frank Miranda, who expressed gratitude to all attendees, organizers, and contributors for their unwavering support and dedication to ABCEA’s mission.
