Annual Scouts, Guides, Bulbuls and Cubs Camp held on 3rd & 4th Oct at St Agnes Special School
Mangaluru: Seventy members of Scouts, Guides, Bulbuls and Cubs of St Agnes Special School, Bendore, Mangaluru enthusiastically joined in the camp on 3rd evening at 4 pm held at the School campus. They Camp inauguration was done at 5 pm by Sr. Shruthi AC, the Principal of the school, after which they prepared for the camp fire. At 8 pm sharp the camp fire was lit and inaugurated by Sr. Maria Anita AC, the joint secretary of the campus institutions.
On the following day the other students joined the units and the formal inauguration was done at 8.45 am by the group leader Karan in the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest Miss Lorna and the other invited guests namely-Dr. N.G Mohan – District scout commissioner, Mrs Irine D’Cunha – District guide commissioner, Vasanth Rao – Vice- President District Scouts and Guides, Ramashesha Shetty- Scout Commissioner, Shri Prithesh – Youth Coordinator Rovers and Rangers. Mrs. Yamuna- Distrct Disabled officer, Women and Child Welfare Department, Sr. Ida Barboza A.C – A.C educational Secretary, Sr. Maria Anita A.C- Joint Secretary, Mrs. Irine Pinto- PTA President and Sr. Shruthi the Principal of St. Agnes Special School. All the guests were impressed by the discipline and order of the students.
The day was filled with activities such as, Kit preparation, Cooking without Fire, Instructions from the Police Inspector, Adventurous games, action songs and treasure hunt. They also did the Shramadhan and cleaned the school premises and also the bus shelter outside the school. The students were kept busy the whole day. The day came to an end at 3 pm by lowering the flag. The students had an unique experience of staying together and doing the activities together. They were inspired by their motto “Be prepared”
