Anti-rowdy Squad Arrests Four for Possession of Illegal Weapons

Mangaluru: The Anti-rowdy squad led by ACP of North Sub Division arrested four persons in connection with the illegal possession of weapons at a house belonging to Sandeep at Krishnapur here on April 1.

The arrested have been identified as Sandeep Devadiga alias Sandeep alias Sandy (29) from Krishapura, Akash Haradi (21) from Brahmavar, Charanraj alias Channu (22) from Farngipet, Bantwal and Rakshith Bhandary (30) from Dharmasthala.

According to the police on April 1, after getting reliable information about illegal possession of weapons at Krishnapura, under the Suratkal police station limits, the North Subdivision ACP Rajendra D S and his team raided Sandeep’s house and seized 3 machetes from his possession.

During interrogation, Sandeep revealed that his associate Akash, Charanraj and Rakshith were also in possession of illegal weapons. The police later arrested Akash and Charanraj from Kuttettur and Rakshith was arrested from Dharmasthala and two country pistols were seized from their possession.

All the accused have been handed over to the Suratkal police station for further investigation. A case has been registered in the Suratkal police station under section 3, 20 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act.

On the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh, and with the able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the ACP of Mangaluru North Sub-division Rajendra D S, Police inspector of Anti-rowdy squad Naveenchandra Jogi, Suratkal police Inspector, Anti-rowdy Squad officers, Panambur and Suratkal police.
