Antony Waste Management Woman Employee Assaulted by man, Hospitalized
Mangaluru: A woman who is an employee of Antony Waste management has been hospitalized after she was abused with foul language and assaulted by a man here on December 7.
The injured woman has been identified as Ellamma (36) a native of Bhagalkot.
According to Ellamma, on December 7, at around 2:00 pm, while she was clearing the waste at Marnamikatta, a man named Salam, approached her, started using foul language and asked her to remove the vehicle. She told him that she was clearing the waste and that they would leave the place as soon as their job was done.
But Salam allegedly manhandled and assaulted her and used foul language. Ellamma has been admitted to the Government Wenlock Hospital for treatment.
The Pandeshwar police who were informed visited the hospital immediately and have recorded Ellamma’s statement.
Santhosh Nair Operations head of Antony Waste Management speaking to mangalorean.com said, “We are cleaning the city when all are sleeping. We get up early in the morning and start our work. While Ellamma was cleaning the area in Marnamikatta, she was assaulted by a man. When we do our work respect us, our woman employee was assaulted by a man. We have already admitted Ellamma to the hospital, we are taking care of her medical treatment. At the same time, we have informed the Pandeshwar police and they will take action against those who have assaulted Ellamma.”
