‘ANVESHANE 2017’ painting exhibition begins in City
Udupi: ‘ANVESHANE 2017’, a painting exhibition by the students of Mahalasa School of Art, Mangaluru was held at the Chitrakala Mandira Kala Vidyalaya on March 16.
Dr Unnikrishanan K Associate Professor, Senior Artist, Research Fellow, CCCS-Manipal University inaugurated the painting exhibition.
Speaking after inaugurating the exhibition, Dr Unnikrishanan congratulated the organisers for organising such exhibitions to encourage the budding artists. It is the duty of the youth to rejuvenate art forms and help them grow. But this is possible only if these youth are given enough encouragement by the society, he added.
Dr U C Niranjan, Secretary Chitrakala Mandira Kala Vidyalaya, Udupi, K Purushotham Nayak, Principal, Mahalasa School of Art Mangaluru, N S Pattar HOD of Painting Dept were present.
About thirty-two paintings by nineteen students were displayed. The genres presented in the group show were encompassing folk, tribal, traditional, contemporary life, philosophy, still life and ancient scripts. The budding artists strive to express through a new visual language through their paintings.
The Exhibition is open to the public, until March 19. The gallery would be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
