Appeasement of particular community by State Govt leads to Murders of Hindu activists- BJP
Mangaluru: Members of the BJP South block staged a protest against the state government and demanded to hand over Santhosh murder case to the National Investigation Agency, in front of the DC office here on February 2.
Addressing the protesters former MLC Monappa Bhandary said, “On January 31, Santhosh was putting up banners of the BJP Parivathana Rally concluding programme which was scheduled to be held on February 4. The person involved in the murder of Santhosh is the son of the block Congress leader. From the past three years, many RSS and BJP workers have been murdered. This is the 24th murder in 3 years and the police have arrested two persons in this case. Home minister Ramalinga Reddy says that the deceased was not a Hindu activist, and the accused had no intention of killing Santhosh. The incident occurred between friends since they had consumed drugs, one of them stabbed Santhosh with a screwdriver. Under the present state government, the law and order situation has totally collapsed in the state.”
Monappa Bhandary further said, “If murders are taking place due to the consumption of drugs, why can’t the Congress government led by CM Siddaramaiah take action to curb the drug menace? Why did the State government withdraw cases registered against PFI and KFD members? The Congress party appeasing the minority has encouraged them to indulge in crime. The Congress leaders and the ministers are directly responsible for all the 24 murders that have taken place in Karnataka. The Congress has failed in providing good governance and the people are cursing it. Instead of arresting the accused in the murder of all the 24 BJP/RSS workers, the Congress leaders are advising the BJP. We do not need their advice. In Dakshina Kannada because of Ramanath Rai and U T Khader the law and order situation has failed.”
The protesters later submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the DC demanding the hand over of Santhosh murder case to the NIA.
President of BJP South Block Vedavyas Kamath, Harikrishna Bantwal, Nandan Mallya, Ravichandra, Roopa D Bangera and others were also present.
