Applying APL Cards made Easier – Minister Khader

Mangaluru: “The new APL ration card system will solve the problems of the applicants. People can easily apply for the new APL card and within fifteen days the new ration card will be delivered to their respective addresses”, said the minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit house here on January 25.

Addressing the mediapersons Khader said that the procedures to apply for the APL card have been made easy. The confusion that was there while applying for the card has been eliminated. In the state, 32,148 people have received the APL cards including 1,898 in the Dakshina Kannada district. Once the application is submitted, the applicant should take the printout of the temporary APL card and within 15 days they will get the permanent APL ration card. The government has also passed an order to provide white Kerosene to the people who are in need. If anyone is interested in selling the white kerosene they can meet the DC of the Food and Civil supplies in their respective districts.

Many people are finding difficulty in collecting their monthly ration. The discussions are on to provide ration to the BPL card holders once in three months so that they can avoid coming to the fair price shop every month. Once the decision will be taken and the order will be passed the BPL card holders can collect the ration for three months. BPL card holders who were receiving rice and wheat are also eligible to get pulses. They will also get the edible oil. BPL card holders can collect their ration from February 1 since the facilities of providing Dal and oil will be launched on January 31.

Kambala

“Kambala is the traditional sport of Tulunadu and we should retain it. The state government led by CM Siddaramaiah has extended his wholehearted support for the Kambala. On January 30, the ordinance will be passed in our favour and ban on Kambala will be lifted. The government should not allow any organization to take the decision on traditional sports. Let PETA come and watch the Kambala before filing any petition on animal cruelty. The central government should find a permanent solution to solve the problems regarding traditional sports.
