‘Aradhane’ of Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji held with Devotion
Udupi: The ‘Aradhane’ of Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, who passed away on July 19, was held simultaneously at the ‘Moola Math’ at Shiroor village near Hiriyadka, and also at Sri Krishna Temple here on September 5.
As per the traditions ‘Kalashabhisheka’ to Lord Mukhyaprana (Hanuman) and various ‘Homas’ were held at the ‘Moola Math’ in Shiroor. The ‘Prasada’ of the ‘Homas’ was offered to the ‘Vrindavana’ of Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji in Shiroor. In the absence of the Sode Math Swamiji, the Diwan of Sode Math held the rituals of the Aradhane.
A special arrangement was made to offer floral tributes to the late Shiroor Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji at Moola Math. The Anna Santharapane and the distribution of saplings were also held at the Shiroor Moola Math.
After the suspicious death of Shiroor Swamiji, the district police took the ‘Moola Math’ into their custody for the purpose of investigations. The Moola Math was handed over to the Dwanda Sode Math on August 27.
