Artists Pay Tribute to Siddaganga Swamiji through Sand Art
Udupi: After Siddaganga Math Swamiji Sri Dr Shivakumara Swamiji died on Monday, tributes have begun flowing in from personalities from across the professional spectrum.
Noted Sand artist of Udupi district Raghavendra and his team paid tribute to the Siddaganga Math Swamiji by creating Sri Dr Shivakumara Swamiji’s sculpture at the Malpe Beach on Tuesday, January 22.
Speaking to Media persons Artist Raghavendra said ” Shivakumara Swamiji of Sri Siddaganga Math, one of the greatest souls of the Spiritual World. The 112-year old sage was instrumental in providing food, shelter and education to lakhs of children belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society, without discriminating on the lines of caste, creed, colour, region and religion. His service to humanity is incomparable. We mourn his demise and salute his sacrifice through this sand Sculpture”.
He also demanded the government of India to give Bharat Ratna to Sri Dr Shivakumara Swamiji. He is worthy of getting the title. Such a great man from Karnataka is worthy to bestowed the Bharat Ratna.”
