Berlin, July 18 (IANS) Hannover have signed Turkey international Mevluet Erdinc from French outfit AS Saint-Etienne, the German Bundesliga club said.
The “Reds” on Friday announced the signing of striker Erdinc, who put pen to paper on three-year deal that keeps him until June 2018 with the Lower Saxony side. The new arrival received the shirt number 39, reported Xinhua news agency.
“We have worked hard on this transfer because it was clear to us that Mevluet Erdinc is that type of striker we want to have. He is a dynamic and robust team player,” Hannover’s sporting director Dirk Dufner said.
The 28-year-old striker has played for a number of French top-flight clubs such as Stade Rennes, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Sochaux. He provided overall 110 assists and 82 goals in 256 appearances. Besides, he donated eight goals in 33 caps for Turkey’s national team.
“It makes me proud to wear the shirt of Hannover for the future. My goal is to be successful with the team,” Erdinc said.
Hannover face newly promoted Darmstadt at the first round in Bundesliga on August 15.
