Assault between JNNURM and private Bus Conductors, complaints registered
Udupi: A JNNURM bus conductor was allegedly assaulted by a city bus conductor over the timing issue near MGM College bus stop on Tuesday, November 22.
According to the JNNURM Bus conductor Vijay Naik (29), His bus had left from Rajathadri Manipal at 4:33 pm and reached MGM bus-stop at 4:50 pm. While the passengers were boarding the bus at the MGM bus stop, a private bus stopped in front of the JNNURM bus blocking the way the conductor of the private bus started an argument with the JNNURM bus conductor and assaulted him. Vijay being injured got admitted to the Government Hospital Ajjakadu.
Meanwhile the private bus conductor Sameer also got admitted to the government hospital and alleged that the JNNURM Bus conductor Vijay Naik assaulted him and used foul language.
According to a complaint given by Sameer aged 20 years, Vijay assaulted him and also threatened him with life. As a result of the assault, Sameer suffered injuries on his hands, legs and the face.
The Town police visited the hospital and have taken statements of both the bus conductors. In regard to both the complaints, two cases have been registered under Sections 353, 341, 323, 504, 506, 504 with Section 149 of the Indian Penal Code at the Udupi Town police station,
investigation is on in this regard.
