Assault on College student, two held
Udupi: Two youth have been detained for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old student at Kallianpur, here on November 30.
The arrested have been identified as Deepak and Sujith, both residents of Nittur.
According to the police, Sayyed Harshad (17), was on his way home, after the annual day programme, on his bike. When he reached near Kallianpur, two youth waylaid his bike and ask for information about another youth, which Harshad refused to provide. Later when Harshad had parked his motorbike near the bakery at Kallianpur, the two youth who had asked for information came along with others and assaulted Harshad.
A complaint was registered in the Udupi Town police station. Based on the complaint Deepak and Sujith were arrested by the Police and a case has been filed under Under IPC 307.
