Assault on Man for Talking to Woman, Four Arrested
Mangaluru: The Bantwal Rural police have arrested four persons on July 30, in connection with the assault at Farangipet on July 29.
The arrested have been identified as Ummer Farooq (36), Arafat (28), Mohammed Afreed (21) and Mohammed Iqbal (32) all from Farangipet.
The accused Ummer Farooq and Mohammed Iqbal are auto drivers by profession. Mohammed Afreed is unemployed and Arafat is a labourer.
On July 29, at around 3:00 pm Suresh was on his way to Mangaluru from Bantwal by car. At Farangipet, he stopped his car to talk to a woman whom he knew. After talking to her, When he was about to leave, a group stopped his car and assaulted him using abusive language.
A case was registered in the Bantwal Rural police station. On July 30 the police arrested four of the accused and search is on for the others involved.
