Associations submit Memorandum to SP for Action against attackers of DC and AC
Udupi: Various like-minded associations submitted a memorandum on Monday, April 3, to K T Balakrishna Superintendent of Police Udupi against the attack on Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis, AC Shilpa Nag and others.
The president of Udupi district Karnataka Karmika Vedike Ravi Shetty speaking to Mangalorean.com said, “DC Priyanka Mary Francis, AC Shilpa Naga and their team had visited various places in Kundapur to check on the illegal sand mining. While they were on duty, some unidentified miscreants attacked them. Illegal sand mining in Udupi district is rampant. The DC and AClC were doing their job to curb illegal sand mining. While they were checking on illegal Sand mining, miscreants attacked them, the sand mafia made an attempt on their life. It is a condemnable act”.
He further said, “The police department should arrest all those involved in the attack. If the department fails to arrest the accused the associations will organise a massive protest against the department”, he warned.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Praveen Shetty Team), Udupi Zilla Maralu Maratagarara Okkuta, Udupi district truck owners association along with Ansar Ahamed, Praveen Suvarna, Raghavendra Suvarna and others were present.
