ATM robbery bid foiled in Brahmavar; thanks to siren
Udupi: Unidentified persons on Thursday attempted to steal money from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) owned by the Corporation Bank in the heart of the city near Akashavani Brahmavar here during the early hours of Tuesday, September 12.
According to the police, unidentified persons disconnected the surveillance camera and attempted to loot the ATM. They tried to open the ATM and removed the front box plate of the ATM. However, they could not open the chest box. At the same time, the emergency siren activated. People from the nearby house who rushed the spot noticed the damage done to the ATM and Immediately alerted to the local police.
The Brahmavar police have registered a case and are investigating.
