ATM Theft Accused arrested by Kankanady Police
Mangaluru: The Kankanady Town police have arrested a youth along with a minor on September 17, for snatching the bag from a woman at Niddel.
The arrested has been identified as Arif (24) from Vamanjoor.
According to the police, when the woman was walking near the Maida factory in Niddel Arif along with a minor boy came on a two-wheeler (without license plate) snatched her bag and fled from the spot. In this connection, a case was registered in the Kankanady town police station. The police have finally succeeded in arresting both the accused.
Accused Arif is involved in various crimes and 3 cases of attempt to murder and theft have been registered against him in the Mangaluru Rural police station, 2 cases in the Kavoor Police station and one case in the Bantwal Rural police station.
Arif was also involved in the Syndicate bank ATM theft case in Panemangaluru. He was involved with Azharuddin who has already been arrested in the Battery and Iron sheets theft case.
The police have seized a Honda Activa, two helmets, 8 mobile phones, the stolen bag and Iron rod used for the ATM theft, all worth Rs 87,750 from his possession.
Under the direction of Police Commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth and ACP Ram Rao the operation was carried out by the Kankanady Town police inspector Ravish Naik, PSI Pradeep T R, Janaki, Santhosh, Madan, Vinod, Rajesh, Nutan, Satish, Sandeep, Jeevan and Megharaj.
