Attempted to Mow Down Police Six Cattle Traffickers Arrested
Mangaluru: On November 1, three cows were stolen from a cowshed in Kolavoor Kuppepadav and a case was registered in the Bajpe police station. On the same day, when the police sub-inspector and his team intercepted the car of Navaz, he tried to mow them down and succeeded to escape. Three cows were rescued on that day. In this connection, a case was registered in the Bajpe police station.
The investigation was on and the police were looking out for the accused. On November 5, on the direction of police inspector Nagaraj, PSI Satish and team arrested six persons near the Polali temple Arch.
The arrested have been identified as Nawaz alias Abdul Nawaz (Shanthi Nagar), Mohammed Mansoor alias Manchu (K C Road, Kotekar), Imran (28) from Maripalla, Imtiyaz (32) Maripalla, Bhatish (30) Arkula Kote House, Adyar and Asgar alias Abbas (30) Kotekar.
The police arrested all the six accused and recovered three cars, 2 swords, 1 machete, wooden club, rope, 6 mobiles and Rs 5100 cash from their possession. They were arrested under sections 457, 380 IPC and 4, 25 (IB)(b) Arms act.
The accused Nawaz was involved in a dacoity case in Kavoor and since then he was absconding. Imran was involved in a murder case of a Lorry driver at in Shiradi Ghat and three cases of cow trafficking were registered against him in the Ullal police station. Bhatish was involved in a theft case in Kuppepadav and was buying stolen cattle in Gerukatte Beltangady. Asgar was involved in providing vehicles to transport stolen cattle.
Under the able guidance of Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, DCP Law and Order Shantharaju, DCP Crime and traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil, ACP Rajendra DS, and the able leadership of police inspector of Bajpe Station T D Nagaraj, the operation was carried out by the PSI Satish, Rajarak, Mohammed, Chandrashekhar, Ramachandra, Premanand, Sashidhar and Bharat.
