AVC win big, AKFC hold Sparx and Soccer Kerala thrash Goa FC 6-0

Kuwait: 8th week of the Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) League for JP D’Mello Trophy started with the first match between FC Sparx and All Kerela Football Club (AKFC).

AKFC playing after a long gap, knowing they had to win to keep up with the group leaders, started the match on a bright note. They controlled the match but failed to create clear chances.

FC Sparx, on the other hand, played their usual football but without anything to show on the score sheet.

In the second half, FC Sparx goalkeeper brilliantly saved the penalty kick awarded to AKFC thereby keeping the score level for a goalless draw.

Goalkeeper Mubasher of FC Sparx was awarded the man of the match presented by Glen D’Souza, Vice President of AVC.

Rosario Colaco officiated the match assisted by Rafi and Nameer.

In the second match, AVC went on top of the group by beating Santos United 4-0.

Christmas gift came early for AVC as they scored within 5 minutes from the start. AVC’s Samson trying to cross the ball was himself surprised to see the ball landing in the Santos net from a zero angle.

From then on there was no stopping AVC as they pushed for more goals knowing that a goal-average would be decisive in the tight group.

Santos United had no answer to AVC attack and crumbled for their biggest loss so far of the season.

Gladston scored twice for AVC with William adding one more for a win they deserved.

Gladston of AVC was awarded man of the match presented by Damien D’Cruz.

The match was officiated by Christopher, Nameer and Sameer.

Soccer Kerela demolished Goa Football Club (GFC) in the last match of the day with a tennis score 6-0. GFC had no answer whatsoever to Soccer Kerela attacks.

In a must-win match for both the teams, Soccer Kerela prevailed with the biggest win of the season by any team.

GFC succumbed to the pace of Soccer Kerela players who were technically sound and physically too strong. It seemed like there was only one team playing on the field.

Ramsheed scored 3 goals while Shyam, Sharath and Shafeek completed the tally with 1 each.

Ramsheed deservedly was awarded man of the match presented by Sarto Baptista.

Officials of the match were Bernard, Rafi and Rosario.
