Awareness Programme about Dengue held at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru : The Department of Social Work organized an informative discussion on ‘Innovative Ideas to Spread Awareness on Controlling Larva Production and Prevent Dengue’ on 6th August 2019 at Sanidya hall. Mrs. Gayathri Nayak, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Mangaluru City Corporation and Raghuveer, District Youth Co-ordinator, Nehru
Yuva Kendra, Mangaluru addressed the students and initiated the discussion.

With the aim of combating Dengue disease and as per the advice of DC, Mrs Gayathri Nayak addressed students about Dengue and its transmission. She spoke about how to generate awareness among general public to prevent and control the production of larva in the district. During the discussion, she asked the students to give Innovative ideas and the students came up with ideas like preparing short videos like memes to post on social medias, jingle to generate awareness,organizing an innovative event like ‘treasure hunt’ to find out larva in the campus etc.

Mrs Nayak asked the students to make video on their ideas and send it to her. She also said that she can verify and officially post it on social media.

The Student Council members and Social Work students actively participated in the discussion and contributed their ideas to make Mangaluru City Dengue Free City.
