Ayodhya Verdict, Dr Harsha Releases Media Advisory to Uphold Public Peace
Mangaluru: “Ayodhya related judgement is expected to be announced by the Supreme Court of India on November 9 at 10:30 am. In this connection all visual media and other forms of media, digital or otherwise as defined in the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 are issued with this advisory in public interest to uphold public peace and order”, stated Dr Harsha in his press statement on November 9.
In the media advisory, it is also stated that All media as defined about are advised not to carry any programmes which,
1. Contains anything defamatory, to the feelings of any communities, deliberate, false and suggestive innuendos and half-truth.
2. Is likely to encourage or incite violence or contains anything against maintenance of law and order or which promotes hatred amongst communities.
3. Contains visual or words that reflect a slandering, ironical and snobbish attitude in the portrayal of certain regional or religious groups.
4. It is further advised that programmes or advertisements should be strictly in conformity with the programme code (Rule-6 of the said Act) advertisement code (Rule -7 of the said Act).
This advisory is issued under the provisions as an authorized officer under the cable TV Regulation Act, the police commissioner Dr Harsha issued the media advisory in accordance with powers granted under section 19 of the Cable TV Regulation Act 1995 as an authorized officer with immediate effect.
