Byndoor: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Tuesday, termed the by-polls as the “semi-final” to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Addressing the gathering at the Konkana Kharvi Auditorium, Trasi on Tuesday to seek support for the JD(S) candidate Madhu Bangarappa, Kumaraswamy said that schemes and programmes of the center have failed. The BJP leaders have lost morality as they are reluctant to speak in favour of the state before the high command. Our coalition government is for the common people.

Former Chief Minister BSY recently said that Chief Minister Kumaraswamy government will fall and he will go home after the Bye-elections. I will not go home after the by-elections. I will go to the houses of the poor people. I’ll sit and discuss how to implement people-friendly schemes of the government. I firmly believe that God has given me this opportunity. The Congress might have given me the support, but it is God who will decide my tenure, and he has already decided.

“The BJP is standing on tiptoes to impose deadlines on the coalition government. They should put a full stop to this. They say that the coalition government will dissolve by November 6, 10, so on and so forth. This is not going to yield them any positive results. They will get an apt answer after the Vidhana Sabha and Lok Sabha by-polls. The people will give them a befitting answer.”

Our Government is committed to the welfare of the fishermen community of the state. The BJP is playing a lot of games to destabilise the government. “The BJP has a habit of contesting elections with ‘Hindutva’ as its agenda. The party members have still not understood, our Constitution. Nobody has given them the contract of ‘Hindutva.’ We are all Hindus. In the current context, Hindutva is not important but the solution for poverty is”, said CM HDK.

“The purpose and intention behind the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition is to send out a message to the nation that we will help sustain a better future for this nation. We have not take the upcoming three Lok Sabha and two Vidhana Sabha by-polls for granted as the BJP is trying to portray. We have taken this election very seriously”, he said.

“The Congress and JDS workers will collectively partake in the canvassing for Madhu Bangarappa and help him win the elections. There is nothing personal about this election. This is just a warmup for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls”, he added.

“After I have taken over as the CM of the state, we have become the first state to provide maximum loan waiver to the farmers compared to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is only giving speeches and not showing any interest in the issues.”

He said that the people in coastal districts are being misled in the name of “Dharma.”

The chief minister urged the public not to get involved in the communal politics of BJP which was following a divide and rule policey.

He said if there was any harm to Hindu religion, he along with the public will be in forefront to save the “Dharma.”

“The communal divide is absolutely disgusting. From Ullal to Karwar, the BJP is all set to make the area a hotbed for communal violence,” he alleged.

He said the coalition government intends to initiate stringent measures against the communal hate unleashed by the BJP. The by-election results will be a decisive factor in the political scenario.

Kumaraswamy asserted that the state government was for the poor. He said the voters will surely support the coalition candidate in the region. “The government will make all efforts to solve problems of the fishermen.”

Taking a dig at BJP leaders B S Yeddyurappa and his son B Y Raghavendra, chief minister accused the father and the son of not raising the issues connected to public. “They never raised any questions in Lok Sabha about the problems suffered by the people of the region.”

Kumaraswamy said that the state government was committed to ensure better educational and basic infrastructural facilities to the children of the fishermen. Elaborating over the various schemes offered by the government, Kumaraswamy said that the government had promised a interest-free loan of Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 to petty shop owners and street vendors through mobile banking.

Former MLA K Gopala Poojary, Former Minister Ramanath Rai, Pramod Madhwaraj, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former legislators Gopal Bhandari, Congress district president Janardhana Tonse, JDS district president Yogish Shetty, G A Bava, Raju Poojary, Ravi Shetty and others were also present.
