Mangaluru: Nawaz, a wholesale fruit merchant operating in the central market in the city lost a bag containing heavy cash to a snatcher on Sunday.
Around 11-45 am, he set out on his scooter from the market. As he was fastening the helmet after placing a laptop bag with Rs 9 lakh in the front part of the scooter, suddenly a stranger snatched the bag and escaped from the spot.
Nawaz tried to give him a chase but there was no success. The act has been recorded by a CCTV camera installed nearby.
The Bunder police are investigating the case.
