Bagalkot woman arrested for abducting Six-year-old Girl from Government Hospital
Udupi: A woman, native of Bagalkot was caught by locals and handed over to the police on charges of abducting a six-year-old girl from the district government hospital here on May 16.
The arrested has been identified as Asha, a native of Hunagunda, Bagalkot.
According to the police Geetha a resident of Byndoor had come to the district hospital along with her daughter to meet her husband who was admitted to the hospital. When Geetha was conversing with her husband, the accused Asha who had also come to the hospital saw the girl alone and approached her. She then lured the girl giving her chocolates and took her to her house.
When the girl started to cry for her mother, the accused Asha assaulted the girl. The locals hearing the child’s cry questioned Asha about the child. Fearing of being exposed, the woman took the child back to the hospital. Meanwhile, the girl’s parents started searching for their child in the hospital. When the woman brought the girl back to the hospital, the locals caught hold of Asha and handed her over to the police. During investigations, Asha admitted her crime.
The town police have registered a case.
