Bailur Gram Panchayat Member Killed by Lightning Strike
Karkala: A gram panchayat member of Bailur under Karkala Taluk was killed after being struck by lightning on May 28.
The deceased has been identified as Sheela Nalke (35), a resident of Bailur. She was the gram panchayat member of Bailur.
According to the police, Sheela Nalke and her husband were asleep in their bedroom. Late at night on May 28th, a bolt of lightning struck Sheela, killing her on the spot. Her husband was also injured in the incident and was admitted to a hospital in Karkala.
A case has been registered in the Karkala Police Station.
