On September 29, at around 6:45 pm, Sujatha was on her way home, near the Railway Bridge at Maravoor, two persons came on a bike, snatched the Mangalsutra Sujatha was wearing and fled from the spot. As soon as the incident took place, Sujatha informed the Bajpe police. The Bajpe police immediately got into action and intercepted more than 35 two-wheelers.

On October 2, the Bajpe police arrested Mohammed Hanif and Imran at Kavoor. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had thrown the Mangalasutra, near a Mosque in Bondel. The Bajpe police then took the accused to Bondel for spot inspection and recovered the Mangalasutra.

The police immediately informed Sujatha and asked her to come to the station to identify the Mangalasutra. Sujatha identified that it was her Mangalasutra which was snatched by the chain snatchers.

But to her surprise, the Mangalasutra which she was wearing all the time thinking that it was made of Gold, in fact, was an artificial gold ornament given by her husband saying that it was gold.

The Bajpe police have registered a chain snatching case.  The operation was carried out under the able leadership of Police inspector of Bajpe station T D Nagaraj, PSI Satish, ASI Janardhan Gowda, Mohammed, Ramachandra, Jayananda, Chandra Mohan, Sashidhar, Bharat and James.

Two days ago, police caught three geniuses doing the same in Bantwaala area. Now, two more in Bajpe area. If you question these guys, I have no doubt that police will catch a few more guys doing the same in mangaluru area. It’s the same ‘group’. By the way, description of culprits shouldn’t be a surprise at all. Where is PFI ? (does anyone know what ‘P’ in PFI stands for?)
