Bajpe Police seize 1344 loads of Illegal Sand from 12 Places
Mangaluru: The Bajpe police, Mines and Geology and PWD departments jointly raided illegal storage of sand in the Bajpe station limits here on May 29.
The Bajpe police raided 12 places in Margadangadi, Muthoor, Kuppepadav, Ganjimatt, Mura Suralpadi and Kandavara and seized 1344 loads of sand.
Huge stock of sand was illegally stored in 12 places instead of storing it in the stockyard in Ganjimatt belonging to the PWD.
After the raid, police have been deployed to overlook the operations in all the 12 places.
The raid was carried out by Police Inspector T D Nagaraj and team, a Senior Scientist of Mines and Geology department Murthy, PWD subdivisional officer Ratnakar and Village Accountant of Revenue department. All the sand has been seized and further investigation is on.
