Bakrid holiday for DK and Udupi on September 12
Mangaluru/Udupi: Bakrid will be celebrated on September 12 in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
In this regard, the State government has declared September 12 as a holiday for the twin districts.
The government has issued an order on Saturday, September 10 to declare a holiday on September 12 to all the Educational institutions and government offices.
In other parts of the state, the holiday has been declared on September 13 as Bakrid will be celebrated on that day.
After a request by the Muslim Community of the twin districts, the government announced the holiday to 12th September, 2016 in place of 13th September.
