Ban on Alcohol in District on Feb 24 and 25
Mangaluru: The deputy commissioner and district magistrate Dr Jagadeesha has issued a directive ordering the closure of all bars and liquor outlets, in the entire district, for 48 hours on February 24 Friday and 25 Saturday.
This has been done as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in view of the Communal Harmony Rally organised by CPI(M) and the Protest rally from Jyoti circle to Nehru Maidan on February 24 by the Sangh Parivar and also a Voluntary bandh called by them on February 25.
On February 25, Kerala Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be inaugurating the Communal Harmony Rally. There is a strong opposition from the Sangh Parivar for the Communal Harmony speech by Pinarayi, they have also called for a voluntary bandh on the same day.
