Dhaka, Aug 2 (IANS) Bangladesh are ready to host reigning world champions Australia for two Test matches in October after a gap of nine years, said the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday.
The itinerary announced says the visitors will arrive here on September 28 and will train till October 2 before taking on BCB XI in a warm-up game at Fatullah on the next day.
The first Test will start from October 9 as both teams battle it out at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
The teams are going to travel back here for the second and the final Test which is scheduled to begin on October 17 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
On September 22, the Australian team will leave for their country.
The last time when Australia toured Bangladesh in 2006, they featured in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and won the series 2-0. This time no ODIs will be played.
Australia will be the fourth heavyweight team to tour the country after Pakistan, India and South Africa in recent months.
