Bank Staff to spread Modi’s Message on Scooter
Ramkishore, aged 51- a Corporation Bank Employee in Delhi, is on a mission to spread the message of PM Narendra Modi on “Swaach Bharath” (Clean India) and “Beti Bachaavo-Beti Padaavo” (Save daughter-Educate Daughter) during his tour to Bholenath’s Holy Shrine of Amarnath (located in Jammu and Kashmir) from Mangaluru on a Mahindra Gusto scooter, covering nearly 7000 kms
Mangaluru: You can call it a “Corpbanker’s Odyssey on a 2-Wheeler”! Imagine traveling nearly 7000 kms in rain and shine through rough and congested roads of South and North India on a Scooter. You and me won’t even dare to try it-but one bank employee of Corporation Bank branch in Delhi has been on this mission since 2003. This year, Ramkishore, the employee of Corporation Bank had decided to start his journey from Bank’s Head Office in Mangaluru, and the flag off was done this morning (23 June) at 10:30 am by Corporation Bank Executive Director-Sunil Kumar Mehta; and Managing Director- Jaikumar Garg, amidst a large number of bank staff.
Spaeking to Mangalorean.com, Ramkishore said, ” I have been making a trip to Amarnath by scooter since 2003. Joining Corporation Bank in Delhi in 1980 as a sub-staff, I was promoted as a clerk in 1995. My main aim is to popularize Amarnath Yatra through my journey, and lately through my trip I have been bringing the awareness of “Swaach Bharath” and “Beti Bachaavo-Beti Padaavo” implemented by PM Narendra Modi. Throughout my journey I also promote and spread the message of unity and cohesiveness of the my country people. Every year I get tremendous support from my employer and also from well-wishers; and also general public en-route my tour. Not to forget, my wife who is a housewife, has been supporting and encouraging me on this project, and also the love from my six children”.
Apart from his other aims, spreading the name of Corporation Bank alongside the journey is another mission of this valiant. Being a father of five girls (and one son), Ramkishore has found the correct motto to spread PM Modi’s message on ” Beti Bachaavo-Beti Padaavo”. This campaign started by Modi in 2015 has witnessed the change in lives of countless girl child and women, and this pet project launched by the Prime Minister to save and empower the girl child is making waves all over the nation.
Riding on his Mahendra Gusto scooter bearing licence plate number DL8S BV 8570, with a odometer reading of 4432, Ramkishore was all happy to ride-on, after receiving the blessings from the temple priest at Sri Manjunatha Temple-Kadri, and also the best wishes from the management and staff at Corporation Bank-HO-Pandeshwar. After traveling for nearly 300-375 kms today, he will halt at Bengaluru tonight, and tomorrow morning he will head out towards Hubli. As part of this 15 days West India trot by Ramkishore, he will travel from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, and from there move towards Hubbali, Pune, Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jammu, Srinagar and Baltal. He will walk from Baltal to Amarnath shrine by walk covering around 16 km.
Team Mangalorean wishes Ramkishore all success in his “Awareness” and “Adventurous” two-wheeler tour.
