Bantwal police Arrest Pintu Ravath in Jewellery Theft Case
Mangaluru: The Bantwal police arrested an employee of Apoorva Jewellers from West Bengal. The arrested has been identified as Pintu Ravath, a native of Kanakul Amarpur, West Bengal.
According to police, on June 6 in the evening, Ravath informed shop owner Sunil that he would take a break to go to the hotel to have tea but he never returned. On suspicion, the owner checked the gold ornaments in the shop and found some of them, weighing 274 grams in total, missing.
Sunil filed a complaint in the Bantwal town police station. The Bantwal police got into action, and sub-inspector Sanjeev K and Praveen from Venur police station accompanied by Adram from Bantwal Town police station went to West Bengal. With the help of the WB police, Pintu Ravath was taken to custody and gold ornaments weighing 229 grams valued at Rs 6.50 lakh were recovered from his possession. Ravath was also produced before the Bantwal court.
Higher officials appreciated the work of Bantwal Town police in arresting Pintu Ravath within a weeks time of the crime.
