Bantwal: Mother-to-be Shailavati (27) from Peruvai was expecting her baby this week. She had been admitted to a hospital in Vittal on Monday afternoon.
Since her condition was turning into an alarming kind, the doctors recommended that she be shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.
Hence she was being taken in a 108 ambulance in the night. As the vehicle reached Thumbe, the woman delivered a girl child. Emergency medical technician Dinesh and pilot Chandrashekhar ensured safe delivery.
She was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Thumbe. The mother and child are in good health.
