B’day Boy’s Big Bash! Hap..Hap..Happy 67th Birthday PM Modiji
To celebrate the 67th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party will observe ‘Seva Diwas’ today across the country with party leaders attending medical camps, blood donation events, and taking part in cleanliness drives.
Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be completing 66 years, and stepping into 67 today, Sunday 17 September. PM Modi is scheduled to kickstart his engagements on his birthday, by visiting his mother in Gandhinagar and receiving her blessings this morning, like he does every year on his birthday. On his birthday, he will dedicate Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation at Kevadia in Gujarath. The height of the dam was recently raised to 138.68 metres, facilitating a usable storage of 4.73 Million Acre feet (MAF), sources reveal. The increased height of the dam is likely to benefit participating states — Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
After inaugurating the dam, PM Modi will travel to Sadhu Bet, where the Statue of Unity, an iconic statue and associated memorial complex for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is currently under construction. The project comprises a 182-metre tall statue, an exhibition hall, a memorial garden, and a Visitor Centre. PM will then attend the closing ceremony of the Narmada Mahotsav, and address the gathering at Dabhoi. He will also lay the foundation stone for National Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum during the event. Later, Prime Minister will visit Amreli to inaugurate a new market yard of APMC. He will also inaugurate new plants of Amar Dairy, and lay the foundation stone of a honey production centre. He will address a Sahakar Sammelan at Amreli.
Meanwhile, the Union government will observer Modi’s birthday as “Seva Diwas (day of service)” across the nation and carry out a range of activities including building twin pit toilets, ‘shramdaan’ or voluntary work and sanitation drives. According to a PTI report, Uma Bharti, Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, has formally asked her ministerial colleagues to make arrangements for such activities in their constituencies, residential areas or any other place, and be present there.
Parmeshwaran Iyer, Drinking water and sanitation secretary, had earlier said the “Seva Diwas” campaign would see large-scale mobilization of people from all walks of life, including the PM, Union ministers, chief ministers, and parliamentarians, to undertake ‘shramdaan’ for cleanliness and construction of toilets and to make their surroundings free from open defecation. Similar to his birthday last year, the prime minister will spend the day in his home-state Gujarat attending a series of official events. The state is slated to go to polls later this year.
Schools across Uttar Pradesh will celebrate PM’s birthday, and all primary school students have mandatorily been asked to go to school for the occasion, despite it being a Sunday. Nearly 1.6 lakh government primary schools across UP would celebrate the prime minister’s birthday. MLAs who have adopted schools in their region will go there and promote PM Modi’s message of cleanliness as part of the celebrations. It is learnt that Modi’s dream of ‘swachh bharat’ could only be achieved by creating awareness among children- This will be the best gift to the PM on his birthday. Sweets will also be distributed among the students. Modi is a perfect icon for children because he has led a life full of hardship and today he is the most powerful man in the world’s largest democracy.”
