Being Warriors and KMC Hospital Hold Blood Donation and Health Camp

Mangaluru: The Being Warriors in Association with KMC Hospital organized a Blood Donation and Health camp at the CSI Kanthi Church Hall, Mangaladevi here on July 1.

The programme began with an invocation. Harish Shetty welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by former MLA J R Lobo by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the gathering J R Lobo said, “Today ‘Being Warriors’ in association with KMC Hospital have organized the Blood donation and health Camp. I would like to congratulate them because such camps will create awareness among the people. Those who organize blood donation and health camps will surely help those in need of blood and medical assistance. Donating blood means saving lives. Such camps will indirectly help the organizers in their future, as these camps will motivate them to take up other social causes in the society. When there are any accidents on the road, there are many onlookers but very rarely does anyone think of taking the victim to the hospital for treatment. When we inculcate a helping nature we will be able to help others.”

Recalling his experience Lobo said, “In 1986 when I was the Tahsildar in Puttur, I was coming back from Mangaluru to Puttur along with my family. When I reached near Polali, there was a minor accident and the passengers who were sitting on the side of the road stopped my car. Stopping my car I asked whether anyone was injured, but they said that they are not injured but wanted to go to the airport. Since I was in a hurry to reach Puttur by 10:00 am I asked them to take another taxi and continued my journey. Even now I repent and think whether my decision was right or wrong because I was in a hurry to reach Puttur and they were in a hurry to reach the airport. When we have a helping nature God will help us. When we do good, we are depositing our good deeds for which we will be rewarded.”

Minister for Housing and Urban Development U T Khader also visited CSI Kanthi Church Hall. Purushotham Kottari, M Madhav Kottari, Balakrishna Kottari, Mohan Kottari, Dr Benazir KMC Dental Surgeon,  CSI Kanthi Church Priest Fr Prabhu Raj, Soujanya Hegde, Mohammed Kaif, Mahesh (Mani), Lubna Kauser (President Being Warriors) and others were also present.
