‘BEING WARRIORS’ are Being ‘SAVIOURS’ in Donating Medicine & Ration Kit to Needy during Lockdown
Mangaluru: ‘BEING WARRIORS’ – a Charity Group, with the motto “Spreading Happiness” in the Community which was launched on 9 March 2018, has been doing various community services since its inception, by donating food, clothing and other necessities to the poor and the needy. The funds for the Charity Group are raised among the Team Management members, Committee members and well-wishers. And now during this pandemic, they have come forward with a helping hand in providing medicines and Ration Kit, to the migrant workers, low wage labourers and the poor people.
During this pandemic, stocked refrigerators and safe shelters are big blessings to have. However, not everyone has the means for this. The 21-day nationwide lockdown to control the spread of coronavirus in India has affected the livelihood of thousands of people. While slum dwellers and daily wage workers are struggling to earn their daily bread, migrant labourers have also been left without work, with some having walked back to their hometowns. Government is doing best to take care of all these migrants and the poor- but, it is not just the government which is stepping forward, a slew of non-governmental organisations are charging ahead to alleviate the conditions. And one such organization helping out to the needy in the present situation, is BEING WARRIORS, who are providing medicines and Ration kits to the needy.
Founders of ‘Being Warriors’ L-R : Kushal Kumar Kottary, Ms Lubna Kauser, and their daughter Kashish
The Ration Kit comprises of Rice, Sugar, Tea powder, Salt, Onions, Oil, Dal, Green Peas, Kadle, Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder etc. And this team of ‘Being Warriors’ comprising of Kushal Kumar Kottary, Sheik M Kaif Kabir, Mohan Kottary, Narasim Hegde and Kiran Punja, are being volunteered in their current project, by the team of Sunil Mulihithulu, Santu Jeppu, Mani Jeppu, Putta Mangaladevi, Chandru Jeppu, Shailu Mulhithulu, Sanjay Bulli, Rathan Jeppu, Yogi, Kaushi Morgansgate, Manoj, Deepak, Nikil, Smith, Uttam, Tejas Dubai, Harshith,Karthik Prince, Shailu Bajal, Sukesh Bajal, Harshit Kuwait, Yemmanur, and Nitu Yeyyadi.
Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Team Member of ‘Being Warriors’ Sheik M Kaif Kabir said, “It’s all about “Being Warriors”and spreading happiness. Warriors means fighters and we will fight against poverty (hunger, clothes and shelter)- these are the three basic things a human being require, and we have given financial aid over the last one decade by providing education assistance with various Trusts in India and Sri Lanka, where there are lot of people in this world who require our support. The backbone of our organization are Husband and wife Duo, Kushal Kumar Kottary, and Ms Lubna Kauser, ( based in Qatar) who are the founders, and they have been sharing part of their wealth towards good cause and making a difference in the lives of the needy people and destitute. Let’s all help the people who are in need and Spread the happiness” .
Apart from involving providing medicines and Ration Kits to the needy during the present lockdown, Being Warriors have undertaken various other projects in the past, like being a great supporter of SRI DEVI CRICKETERS -JEPPU, in their cricket tournaments/activities; provide lunch for nearly 400 inmates of a Old Age Home; Financial aid to Mother Teresa Home in Falnir; provided lunch to differently-abled children at Saanidhya Residential School & Training Centre for the Mentally Challenged at Shakthinagar, among many other projects. They will be also providing rice and vegetables, including lunch to Mother Teresa Home in Falnir this week during the lockdown.
In conclusion, the joy of being able to bless and give someone you love and care, and to make them smile, is priceless. The satisfaction that comes from making a difference in the lives of others cannot be overstated. Knowing that you have helped make someone else’s life a little brighter and better is a special feeling, and one that will last with you for a long time. And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy. “We are the world. We are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day. We’re all part of God’s great big family. And the truth is that love is all we need. So let’s start giving, for it’s true, we’ll make a better day. Just you and me.” – These thought-provoking lyrics by the late pop-star Michael Jackson from the song “We Are the World” are quite befitting here. Yes, we all can do it if we make up our mind. If you are looking for a way to enhance your act of sharing and giving experience, contribute to ‘Being Warriors’ Fund to help them carry on with their community service projects, and also during their medicine and food kit project during lockdown.
