Belthangady Police Arrest Five Youth in Bike Theft Case
Belthangady: Five youth have been arrested in connection with the theft of motorbikes at the Jainpete, Belthangady here on July 4.
The arrested have been identified as Vijay alias Anjaneya (23) from Surathkal, Pradeep alias Chethan alias Pradi (27) from Ulaibettu, Sudeesh K K alias Munna (20) from Balepuni, Mohan alias Putta (21) from Belthangady and Nithin Kumar (22) from Laila, Belthangady.
According to the police, there were continuous thefts of motorbikes, and cases were registered in the Belthangady police station. In this connection, when the Belthangady police were checking two-wheelers at Jainpete on July 4, three youth who came in two motorbikes were police stopped. While inspecting the vehicles and the documents, the police found that the bikes were stolen from a house in front of the SDM Kala Bhavan Belthangady and Moodbidri.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that there were two more persons from Ujire who had stolen the motorbikes. The Belthangady police seized four bikes, and an Omni car used for crime worth Rs 3.3 lakh. The seized vehicles and the accused were produced before the court in Belthangady.
Under the able direction of SP Lakshmi Prasad and under the guidance of ASP Vikram and under the leadership of DySP Valentine D’Souza and Belthangady circle inspector Sandesh P G, the operation was carried out by PSI Nandakumar, Probationary PSI Sharath Kumar, ASI Devappa, M K, K J Tilak, Lawrence P R, Ibrahim, Ashok, Charan Raj, Venkatesh and Basavaraj.
