Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Pooja Gandhi was arrested by the Jayanagar police for wayward driving on Friday. She was later released on bail.
Her car had reportedly collided with a two-wheeler, which Varsha Sahani (55), a resident of Banashankari, was riding. Sahani was injured and she was hospitalized by Pooja. Since then she did not report the matter to the police.
The incident occurred near the Yediyur tank at the Jayanagar VII block when she was driving towards Banashankari with two others.
The police said that she was trying to give an alibi that it was her driver who was at the wheel. Even eyewitnesses had two different versions to say.
Pooja admitted that it was her fault but it was not intentional. The police questioned her and took down her statement. She said that they treated her well.
She was thereafter released on bail.
