Bengaluru Archbishop makes appeal to observe Good Friday, Easter prayers at home

Bengaluru : Archbishop of Bengaluru Dr Peter Machado has appealed to the Christian community to observe Good Friday at home.

Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao and Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Division) S D Sharanappa visited the Archbishop on Tuesday morning and requested that churches remain closed on Good Friday due to the lockdown against Covid-19.

Acknowledging the request, the Archbishop said people have already been asked to observe Good Friday at home.

Sources in the Bangalore Archdiocese told DH that elaborate arrangements have been made to telecast the live streaming of the prayers on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
