Bengaluru: Krishnakumar (40) has been arrested by the Sheshadripuram police on charge of murder of his wife Rani (32) by slitting her throat.
Rani worked in a furniture shop on R K Street in Sirur Park in Sheshadripuram. Krishnakumar and she have a five-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son. But they had a marital discord during the past years.
Krishnakumar whiled away his time without taking up any work and the family expenses were taken care of from Rani’s salary. The husband was falsely suspected her character also. On this pretext he had filed an application for separation in a court. He had also been forcing her to sign the divorce papers, which she refused to do.
A heated argument reportedly took place between them from late Saturday night up to Sunday morning. Around 4-30 pm, he cut her throat with a knife and fled the spot.
Some of the neighbours had heard the racket early in the morning. When they arrived at the couple’s house to check, Rani was found lying dead in a pool of blood. The police were informed and they shifted the body to Victoria hospital. Fingerprint and canine squads also held investigations.
Krishnakumar, while attempting to hide himself in a friend’s house, was nabbed by the police.
