Bengaluru/ New Delhi (DHNS) : Petrol and diesel will be cheaper by 87 paise and Rs 1.41 a litre respectively, in Bengaluru from the midnight of April 15. Petrol will now cost Rs 65.17 and diesel Rs 51.74, according to the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
In Delhi, Petrol prices went down by 80 paise per litre and diesel by Rs 1.30 a litre. This was the second successive cut this month in the prices of both commodities. With the latest reduction in prices, petrol in Delhi will sell at Rs 59.20 a litre as against Rs 60 at present. Diesel will sell at Rs 47.20 per litre as against Rs 48.50.
Petrol in Kolkata will sell at Rs 66.81 a litre down from Rs 67.48 while in Mumbai, it will sell at Rs 66.99 per litre from the current price of Rs 67.53. In Chennai, the rates will come down to Rs 61.90 from Rs 62.75.
Similarly, diesel in Kolkata will sell at Rs 52.08 per litre, in Mumbai, at Rs 54.26 and in Chennai, at Rs 50.21 a litre.
India’s largest fuel retailer Indian Oil Corporation said, “Since the last price change, the trend of international prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US dollar exchange rate warrant a further downward revision in prices, the impact of which is being passed on to consumers with this price decrease.”
Petrol prices had been cut 10 times since August 2014 and diesel 6 times since October 2014. The only time the prices of both the commodities were increased were February and March this year.
