Bengaluru: Bengaluru police on Monday lodged an FIR against Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth, for allegedly producing fake documents in court to get gag order on media.
In the first week of December 2014 , Latha had allegedly created a fake letterhead under the Publishers and Broadcast Welfare Association of India and approached the court to get a gag order on publications that had published news about the financial dispute she had with Ad Bureau. The company was one of the producers of ‘Kochadaiyaan’ directed by Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin.
The affidavit filed by her counsel had mentioned that she had received a letter from the Publishers and Broadcasters Welfare Association of India, which is now believed to be a fake letter.
On June 9, the court ordered the Bengaluru police to register an FIR against Latha .
