Bengaluru: Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Hosanagara Math in Shimoga district, who now faces charges of repeated sexual assault from two women, was summoned from the Girinagar branch of the Math by the CID to their office on Friday.
He was arrested for a while and immediately released on submission of a bond for Rs 5 lakh and two sureties. The CID sources said that the arrest process was ‘technical’ and the bail granted was conditional.
He was questioned by a team of CID officials led by SP Sirigowri. Well before the questioning, the Swamiji had obtained a bail.

TECHNICAL ARREST IS A MOMENTARY ARREST AND RELEASE. IT WOULD CAUSE A TECHNICAL GIVING UP OF CHATURMAS VRATA!
IF THE RAPES TOOK PLACE MANY YEARS BACK AND NO COMPLAINT WAS FILED IN TIME, THEN IT BECOMES ‘TECHNICAL RAPE’! IS TECHNICAL RAPE PUNISHABLE?
This is why India continues to be a third-world nation. One set of laws for common citizens and a different set of laws for rich and powerful!! How are we supposed to trust these police or judiciary? Pathetic!!
