Bharatha Nritya performance by Smt. Kshithija Kasaravalli in Nrityaantaranga 59
Puttur: Nrityaantaranga, a festival of Indian Classical dances, a series of performances which has enriched the knowledge of Art amongst the spectators of Puttur is being run successfully by Shri Mookambika Cultural Academy(R.) of Puttur. The artistic Director Vidwan Deepak Kumar and the committee members of the Academy has been the key factors to run these series smoothly for the past 3-4 years.
Many local, regional and national artistes have performed here creating a Classical Ambience in the region. After 58 successful series, the 59th series was performed by Smt.Kshithija Kasaravalli from Bengaluru.
Kshithija coming from ‘Kasaravalli Family’ known for people who have achieved in the field of Film, Theatre, Music, Literature and Photography, is been into this field for more than 2 decades. Learning Bharathanatyam from Geetha Anathanarayan and Karnataka Kalashree Guru Bhanumathi, Kshithija got special training in Karanas(Bharata Nritya) under (late) Guru Sundari Santhanam. Having toured all over the country and abroad, Kshithija has won many laurels and awards.
Nrityaantaranga 59 was inaugurated by Aryabhata International Awardee Photographer Shri Muralidhara Kalluraya and his wife Smt. Priya Murali, Rayaramane of Chayakuteera, Puttur by lighting the holy lamp. Prayer was done by bunch of cute kids of the academy – Kum. Vaishnavi Pai, Sonu, Ishani Rai, Manvi Kaje and Sthuthi by invoking Lord Ganesha. The compering was done by Kum. Apurva Gowri Devasya. Kum. Dhatri introduced the Artiste of the evening while Kum. Agamya introduced the Guests to the audience. Kum. Swathi gave a lecture demonstration on the topic ‘Shringara Rasa’. Kum. Isha Sulochana Muliya, Adya Sulochana Muliya, Akshaya Parvathi Saroli, Vibhashri and Shama Chandukudlu gave information regarding the dance numbers performed.
The guests of honour Shri Muralidhara Kalluraya and his wife Smt. Priya Murali, Rayaramane appreciated the works of Guru Vidwan Deepak Kumar and his family in creating an atmosphere of classical waves in a small town of Puttur. He pointed that through Nrityaantaranga festival many artistes of various dance forms from all over the country are happened to come to Puttur and through this the people of Puttur got a golden opportunity to visualize, enjoy, learn and compare various classical dance forms of our country very frequently which was otherwise not possible in such a short period.
The artiste Smt. Kshithija Kasaravalli expressed her gratitude to the Academy’s members for their kind hospitality and the spectators for giving a good vibes and thereby encouraging her.
Kshithija performed Narasimha Kauthuvam in Kannada language narrating the story of Lord Narasimha. Later Ranjanimala was performed showing the various forms of Goddess Devi coonecting to varoius Ragas of suffix Ranjani. The third item presented was a Bhavageethe in Kannada ‘Nee sigade Balondu Bale Krishna’ showing the lamentation of the heroine in seperation with Krishna. The fourth item was Madhurashtaka with a beautiful music blended with crispy Jathis in the middle showing the sweeter aspects of Krishna. The Thillana was the concluding number in Lavangi Raga and Aditala with a special reciting of Shollukattus called ’Getthu’. Kshithija beautifully choreographed the items with a proper blend of bharatanatyam adavus and Karanas of Natya Shastra. This was a special experience to the audience.
Vidwan Deepak Kumar who planned the whole programme gave the information regarding the aim of arranging such festivals and requested the audience to spread the word among the people so that many more will be educated regarding the Classical Art forms.
