Bhaskar Shetty murder accused produced to Court in private car

Udupi: When the special privileges extended to Sashikala are rocking the state, similar instance of providing a private vehicle by the prison authorities for the accused involved in the murder of Bhaskar Shetty has attracted severe criticism from the public.

The accused involved in the murder of Bhaskar Shetty arrived to the Udupi District Sessions Court in a private air-conditioned vehicle accompanied by a constable. Normally, the accused are produced to the court in the police jeep, but the Mangaluru Jail Police officials accompanied the accused in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The police who were aware of the presence of the media persons in front of the court managed to produce the accused from the rear entrance of the court and later took them to Mangaluru jail through the same way. One of the media person present there spotted them in a private vehicle.

The supreme court has quashed the application of the accused. The charge sheet has been filed to the court and likewise, the accused were produced before the court. The public Prosecutor pleaded for more time since the additional charge sheet was to be filed and the court scheduled the hearing on August 28.

The defense counsel for the accused, Senior Advocate speaking to the media persons said that there is no rule which says the accused cannot be produced in private vehicles. If there are no vehicles in the jail the procedure is followed but the accused has to bear the expenses.

The Public Prosecutor expressed her dissatisfaction for producing the accused in a private car to the court and said that the accused cannot be brought in a private car. It is a lapse by the jail authorities.

After the news appeared in media the district SP Dr Sanjeev Patil held a preliminary inquiry by the DySP and has suspended 3 of the staff, ARSI Sudhakar, WPC Renuka and CPC Salman Khan until the departmental inquiry for dereliction in Escort duty was completed.

Today it is made to believe accused is the victim and vice versa. What is happening today? It is projected that the wrong doers have goody goody image very sad who encourage such deeds indirectly showing their support for the injustice. No one can fool the Almighty.The person himself will always know his crime forever.
