Bhaskar Shetty Murder: HC stays Police Custody of Rajeshwari Shetty
Udupi: In the murder of Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty, the prime accused Navaneeth Shetty and Niranjan Bhat were produced before the court by the CID Police on September 21.
The Police Custody of Navaneeth and Niranjan came to an end on September 21 evening 5:00 pm.
The CID DySP Chandrashekar Shetty and CID SP Yadav Martin produced Navaneeth and Niranjan before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.
The assistant public prosecutor sought CID custody of Navaneeth and Niranjan for three more days. Advocate Arun Shetty representing the accused, objected to police custody.
After the hearing the Additional chief Judicial Magistrate rejected assistant public prosecutors appeal and remanded Judicial Custody till October 3.
Meanwhile, the High Court order stayed the police custody of Rajeshwari Shetty. Advocate Arun Sharma represented Rajeshwari in the High Court and filed a writ petition on September 20. The hearing was held on September 21. The Advocate asked for time till September 24 to produce the High court order copy.
