Bhaskar Shetty Murder: Navaneeth sent to CID Police custody for two days
Udupi: The accused Rajeshwari Shetty, Navaneeth, Shrinivas Bhat and Raghavendra in the murder of Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty were produced before the court by the CID Police on September 19.
The Judicial Custody of all four accused ended on September 19.
The CID DySP Chandrashekar Shetty produced the four accused before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. CID SP Yadav Martin who arrived in the city was also present during the court proceedings.
The assistant public prosecutor sought CID custody of Navaneeth Shetty for six more days. Advocate Arun Shetty representing the accused objected to police custody on health grounds. Shetty appealed to the court that Navaneeth is suffering from Asthma. Shetty also objected the police for bringing Rajeshwari and Navaneeth till Padubidri in the Police Vehicle and thereafter bringing them in a private bus. Since there is a threat to their life, he appealed that they are brought to court in the police vehicle from Mangaluru to Udupi.
After the a long hearing the Additional chief Judicial Magistrate permitted the CID police to take Navaneeth into their custody until September 21 evening. The court has remanded the accused Rajeshwari, Shrinivas Bhat and Raghavendra to Judicial custody till October 3.
The Police custody of Niranjan Bhat another prime accused in the case will end on September 19 and he will be produced before the court at 5 pm.
