Bhaskar Shetty Murder: Recovered bones confirmed to be humans
Udupi: The CID investigating team of Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty murder case has confirmed that the bones which were recovered in Palli River are those of humans.
The forensic expert team had sent the recovered bones to Forensic Science Laboratories.
The CID police have also collected blood samples from Bhaskar Shetty’s mother Gulabi Shetty and his elder brother for the DNA profiling after the permission of Chief Judicial Magistrate. The DNA testing team will match the bones with blood samples of Bhaskar Shetty’s mother and elder brother, to ascertain that they are the bones of Bhaskar Shetty. “The DNA report is expected in 15 days“, said sources.
Meanwhile, the district Chief Judicial Magistrate has handed over the prime accused Niranjan Bhat to the custody of the CID till September 17.
Bhaskar Shetty had gone missing from his house on July 28, and his mother Gulabi Shetty had filed a missing person complaint with the Manipal Police onJuly 29.
The police have arrested Bhaskar Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari, son Navaneet and Niranjan. Police have also arrested Shrinivas Bhat and Raghavendra on charges of destroying evidence in the case.
