Big B praises Srijit Mukherji for ‘Zulfiqar’
Mumbai, Sep 8 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has praised film director Srijit Mukherji for the upcoming Bengali crime-drama film “Zulfiqar”.
The 73-year-old actor on Thursday sent out a tweet to Mukherji, and also shared a link of the trailer of the Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee and Paoli Dam starrer movie.
“What a wonderful interpretation of Julius Caesar in Bengali by Srijit (Mukherji),” he tweeted.
“Zulfiqar” is based on an adaptation of two of British playwright William Shakespeare’s tragedies — “Julius Caesar” and “Antony and Cleopatra”.
On the Bollywood front, Mukherji has directed actress Vidya Balan for the upcoming film “Begum Jaan”, a Hindi adaptation of his Bengali offering “Rajkahini”.
Produced by Vishesh Films and Play Entertainment, “Begum Jaan” marks Mukherji’s directorial debut in Hindi films.

Deepika wants people to smile more
Actress Deepika Padukone has taken it upon herself to make people around her smile more often.
According to a source close to her, Deepika has asked her team members to make a conscious effort at smiling more and making it a habit.
Talking about it, Deepika said in a statement: “Smiles are so magical… We don’t even realise what a positive effect they have on us and the people around us. Life can often get stressful, and it’s important to try and smile even through those times.”
On the professional front, Deepika is looking forward to her Hollywood debut along “Fast and Furious” star Vin Diesel in “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”. And she will also be seen in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film “Padmavati”.

Vishal Bhardwaj happy after composing for ‘Motu Patlu…’
Acclaimed filmmaker and composer Vishal Bhardwaj is happy after composing the title track of “Motu Patlu – King Of Kings”. He says the song explores the “limitless potential” of the children’s music genre.
“I had a great time composing the title track for ‘Motu Patlu – King Of Kings’. This song has been created keeping in mind the limitless potential offered by kids’ music genre,” Bhardwaj said in a statement.
He added: “The music and lyrics of the song have been seamlessly integrated keeping in mind children’s choice of music and the overall theme of the film. The song, thus, is a great celebration of the innocence of childhood and pure wonder for the world!”
Bhardwaj was so impressed with the children after they recorded the song in a single take that he gave them a ‘samosa’ treat.
