Mangaluru: A unidentified man died on the spot after the bike he was riding hit a parked Hitachi Excavator at Netravati Bridge here on March 25 night.
The identity of the deceased is not known.
According to sources, road repair work on Netravati bridge was in progress and the road was not closed for vehicles, a Hitachi Excavator was parked at the work area. A man who was riding the bike did not notice the Hitachi which was parked on the bridge and crashed into it.
Sources also said that he may have succumbed to injuries in the night. Kadri traffic police reached the spot on March 26, and shifted the body to the Mortuary for post-mortem.
A case has been registered in the Kadri Traffic police station.
